Modern vehicles can tell us a lot before we ever turn a wrench. Professional diagnostic equipment scans the vehicle’s computer systems for current and stored fault codes. Readiness monitors are also reviewed to help uncover recently cleared warning lights or hidden problems.
A closer look under the hood can reveal problems that aren’t obvious during a test drive. The engine bay is inspected for oil and coolant leaks, worn components, and common problem areas. Essential fluids are also checked for signs of wear, contamination, or neglect.

Next comes the vehicle’s mechanical and safety essentials. Brake and tire condition, tread wear, belts, suspension components, and visible leaks are all evaluated. The goal is to identify worn or aging parts that could lead to expensive repairs down the road.
The inspection finishes inside the cabin, where modern vehicles can hide plenty of expensive problems. Windows, seats, climate control, infotainment, and other major features are tested for proper operation.
